Hospital Council recently arranged and participated in a tour of Santa Rosa Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (formerly Aurora) that also included Liz Gibboney, CEO of Partnership Health Plan.
Hospital CEO Chad Hickerson shared his facility’s existing services for pediatric and adult patients, a recent expansion of beds, and future expansion that is in the works. The hospital will soon be even more comprehensive when outpatient construction and services are complete, including hard-to-find treatment for eating disorders (both inpatient and outpatient).
The hospital recently expanded services for youth, as there has been a much greater need because of pandemic impacts. Santa Rosa Behavioral Healthcare Hospital provides services for Medicare and commercial insurance patients, as well as Medi-Cal for more than 20 counties. Efforts are underway to expand the behavioral health workforce by partnering with local college and physician residency programs.
