On Sept. 28, member hospitals and health systems were asked to join the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors meeting to discuss how they will implement the third booster shot. This invitation came after a Sept. 14 presentation from RVP Jo Coffaro, who provided a detailed report on the planning status. In addition to expressing the intent for hospitals to participate in the booster vaccination process as part of the full health care network, including clinics and pharmacies, hospitals were able to provide context that implementation of any and all plans are dependent on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration, and the California Department of Public Health.
