On May 27, Hospital Council hosted an introductory meeting with Assembly Member Lori Wilson (D-Suisun City) and hospitals in her district. The Assembly member ran unopposed in a special election for the District 11 Assembly seat in April and was sworn into office immediately afterward. This was the first time meeting with Wilson as a group, and it represents an important opportunity to build relationships and share our current legislative and local policy priorities.
The group heard about Wilson’s strong support for expanded behavioral health care services, especially for children and youth. She also described her background and experience in the area of housing as a former mayor and city council member, and her commitment to working on this issue in the Legislature. Hospital Council looks forward to working with Wilson on these and many other issues that are critical to the health and well-being of our patients.
