Hospital Input Needed for Workforce Survey

As hospitals face critical employee shortages, workforce data are essential to providing insight on questions regarding the supply, demand, and distribution of health professionals.

Each quarter, member hospitals are invited to participate in the Hospital Association of Southern California’s (HASC) Health Care Workforce Survey, which captures data on turnover, new hires, and vacancies for all positions, including select nursing and allied health positions. Final reports are distributed to participating members at no cost. Hospitals use the benchmark report to compare their key workforce metrics to the overall industry and data help to inform the advocacy work of the Regional Associations.

Data collection for the second quarter began on July 11 and hospitals in the Hospital Council region are encouraged to participate. The survey has been redesigned to streamline the submission process, allowing hospitals to upload a preformatted spreadsheet with their data into the Salarity platform. The deadline to participate is Aug. 12. Data are collected through HASC’s survey platform, Salarity.org. Once logged into the site, go to the “Surveys” drop-down menu to get started.

As an incentive to encourage more participation, HASC is offering hospitals that didn’t participate in the 2022 first quarter survey the opportunity to receive a free copy of the final first quarter 2022 Health Care Workforce Report. For more information or with any questions, email LReyna@hasc.org.
