Who
- Northern Sierra Hospitals
What
Hospitals in the Northern Sierra Section continue to see declines in COVID-19 cases while effects of the pandemic linger, most notably in the areas of workforce and their ability to transfer to lower levels of care. The inability to transfer to behavioral health and substance use disorder settings has increased with the pandemic and remains a significant issue for many. There is also great concern about proposed changes to the Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act (MICRA) and the negative effects it could have on recruiting physicians to California. CHA is part of a large campaign coalition that will be opposing the MICRA ballot initiative; Carmela Coyle, CHA President & CEO, heads this more than 30-year-old coalition.
