In March, HC held meet-and-greet meetings with Sacramento County District 5 Supervisor Pat Hume and Placer County District 2 Supervisor Shanti Landon, both of whom were elected to their respective boards of supervisors last November. Hume discussed the details of Sacramento’s impacted EMS system, touching on hospital patient volumes and throughput, shortages of post-acute care facilities, and partnership with EMS providers. Landon showed interest in the work hospitals are doing regarding homelessness and mental health. The hospital representatives also met the new health director, primary health director, and LEMSA medical director in Sacramento County.
