Application Submitted for Santa Clara EMS Trust Fund Grant

Who

  • Santa Clara County Hospital Emergency Preparedness Partners

What

On behalf of the Santa Clara County Hospital Emergency Preparedness Partners, Hospital Council has submitted an application for a Santa Clara Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Trust Fund Grant of $100,000. The grant would be used to purchase mobile incident command centers for Santa Clara County hospitals.

The ability for first responders and key hospital personnel to communicate during an emergency is imperative, and improving the current options is a priority for hospitals in Santa Clara County. Hospitals agree that it is not always possible or preferable to have the command center within the four walls of the hospital, and a mobile incident command system would allow hospitals to have improved and more timely communication with the local EMS agency during an emergency.

Takeaway / Next Steps

The application is pending a decision from the Trust Fund Committee.
