On June 16, Hospital Council convened Alameda County hospital leaders to meet with state Sen. Aisha Wahab (D-Hayward). This was an introductory meeting and an opportunity to build relationships with the new senator. We had a positive dialogue on many critical issues, including funding through the managed care organization tax in the state budget to benefit hospitals and other health care providers, behavioral health and workforce challenges, and local community health needs.
Next Steps
Hospitals will reach out and invite the senator to visit their facilities. We look forward to many more opportunities to meet and work together.
