On April 14-17, a strong contingent from the hospital community was among the 425 business, civic, and local government leaders who participated in the 52nd annual Capitol-to-Capitol (Cap-to-Cap) advocacy trip hosted by the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce.
Participants met with members of the Sacramento area House delegation, inland North State members, both California senators, congressional committee staff, and administrative staff to discuss California Hospital Association priorities, including workplace safety, telehealth, and financial viability.
Takeaway/Next Steps
Rep. Ami Bera (D), MD, invited hospital leaders to partner with him to advance a workforce development pilot for Department of Health and Human Services Secretary and Sacramento native Xavier Becerra, who has expressed interest in supporting these types of projects.
