Hospital Council’s San Mateo Section invited the candidates running to represent Assembly District 28 to meet with the government relations officers from the district’s hospitals. This was an opportunity for the candidates to get to know the hospitals from their district and discuss current state legislation and challenges. Only one candidate, Gail Pellerin, attended the meeting on May 19, but the hospitals found it informative and a good opportunity to hear about the issues the candidate is passionate about. The section is planning to invite Liz Lawler, who will face Pellerin in November’s general election, to have a similar conversation.
