On May 16, Hospital Council convened Alameda County hospital leaders to meet with Assembly Member Liz Ortega. This was an introductory meeting and an opportunity to build relationships with the new Assembly member. We had an excellent dialogue on many critical issues, including the need for financial relief for hospitals in the state budget following the pandemic, important legislation to help hospitals address the workforce crisis, and local community health needs.
Hospitals will reach out and invite the Assembly member to visit their facilities. We look forward to many more opportunities to meet and work together.
