After Seven Emergency Surgeries Requiring Dozens of Clinicians, New Mother Returns Home

Edna suffered a severe pregnancy complication that required assistance from UC Davis Health’s Fetal Care and Treatment Center. There, she underwent seven procedures that saved her life and that of her little one.

When Edna, pregnant with her seventh child, discovered symptoms of a pregnancy complication, she was rushed to UC Davis Health’s Fetal Care and Treatment Center for care. The center determined that she was experiencing a rare, life-threatening condition that would require a series of surgeries and a lot of clinicians.

Thankfully, the Fetal Care and Treatment Center was able to perform the seven surgeries and coordinated efforts by 24 surgeons, 36 anesthesiologists, and others. Now, Edna is back home, focusing on her family and physical therapy.
