CHA Submits Signatures for ‘Health Care Workers’ Right to Vote’ Initiative 

This week, the California Hospital Association submitted nearly 1 million signatures for the Health Care Workers’ Right to Vote ballot measure to counties for verification. The signature verification process should take about four to six weeks. Signatures are still being verified for the Health Care Endangerment Act, a Service Employees International Union initiative that would cap compensation for executives, administrators, and managers.

APOT Reduction Protocols Due June 30 

All hospitals must submit an ambulance patient offload time (APOT) reduction protocol — required under Assembly Bill 40 (2023) — to the Emergency Medical Services Authority annually on or before June 30. In an article published last week, the California Hospital Association recommends that hospitals submit their protocols as soon as possible.
