Campaign Materials Available for CHA-Sponsored Ballot Measure to Strengthen Medi-Cal

Hospitals are encouraged to join the coalition supporting Proposition (Prop) 35, which would make permanent an existing fee on managed care organizations that enables the state to draw on federal matching funds to improve Medi-Cal. The Hospital Council Board of Directors voted to join the Yes on Prop 35 coalition at its Aug. 21 meeting.

The initiative will be on the November ballot and, if successful, is expected to generate between $5 billion and $11 billion annually for hospitals, doctors, federally qualified health centers, and others who care for Medi-Cal patients. Of that amount, as much as $1.4 billion is expected to be allocated to hospitals in 2025, with the amount growing to an estimated $2.6 billion annually starting in 2027.

Campaign materials — including buttons, stickers, pocket cards, pamphlets, and window signs in both English and Spanish — are now available to order. For more information, refer to the California Hospital Association’s article on Prop 35.
