The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently unveiled a new Patient Safety Structural Measure (PSSM), asking hospitals to attest to the use of 25 practices that support a culture of safety. Mandatory reporting starts with calendar year 2025, and a new, complementary tool can help hospitals with compliance.
A complementary tool developed by the Tennessee Hospital Association will enable you to self-assess your hospital’s compliance with PSSM prior to the start of reporting. Should you identify gaps, the Hospital Quality Institute (HQI) can assist with programs that will help your organization meet or exceed all elements of the new measure.
To discuss the results of your self-assessment and how HQI can help with any challenges, please contact HQI President Robert Imhoff directly at rimhoff@hqinstitute.org, or Boris Kalanj, HQI’s director of programs, at bkalanj@hqinstitute.org.
