Amber’s back pain was caused by a tumor in her large intestine. She turned to the Adventist Health care team for help and is now cancer-free.
Severe back pain prompted Amber to see her primary care doctor — who discovered a tumor in her large intestine. Amber was immediately referred to Dr. Ota at Adventist Health, an expert on gastrointestinal tracts, who discovered that her cancer had spread to multiple organs. Together, Dr. Ota and the Adventist Health care team completed a 10-month cancer treatment plan and performed multiple surgeries to remove Amber’s cancer. Now cancer-free and “back in the saddle” riding horses, Amber is taking every day as it comes. “None of us are guaranteed tomorrow,” she says, “so I’m going to live for today.”
