Who
Over 30 representatives from San Joaquin County school districts, hospitals, community-based organizations, and county behavioral health services
What
These stakeholders gathered for a Community Conversation on Youth Mental Health on May 19 to discuss existing programs and resources for kids needing behavioral health support. They also identified gaps in the system and populations not accessing appropriate care. The group agreed to continue working together to better integrate resources and meet local needs.
Meetings are to be held monthly of the new San Joaquin County Youth Mental Health Task Force to help create better alignment among partners. The immediate objectives are to prioritize the most pressing needs and create a pilot of limited scale to test change.
