XFERALL is Easing the Delays in Finding Appropriate Treatment for Youth in Behavioral Health Crisis
While emergency department (ED) visits for other medical causes that affect children declined in the early stages of the pandemic, the number of children’s mental health-related ED visits rose 24% among 5- to 11-year-olds. It also surged 31% among 12- to 17-year-olds in April 2020 through October 2020, compared to that period in 2019, according to a November 2020 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report.
XFERALL partners with health systems, mental health crisis teams and health care providers across the nation to expedite access to care for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a mental health crisis. In July 2023, the median time to secure placement on the XFERALL network was 36 minutes.
