Hospital COOs in Santa Clara County met recently to share how they are trying to move their organizations and staff from a pandemic mindset to an endemic mindset. The meeting was separated into three categories: patients, visitors, and staff. Many of their policies around break rooms, not being open to the public, and testing before hospital admissions and procedures requiring sedation are similar. Where the organizations differ is around visitation policies because of variations in the size of facilities. The older facilities that have shared rooms allow for only one visitor at a time due to an inability to social distance.
