Motorcycle Accident Survivor Looks Forward to Future

After a near-fatal motorcycle accident, former high school athlete Diego was in a coma for 40 days — until his care team at Community Regional Medical Center used an innovative procedure to help direct air to different parts of his lungs. Following the procedure, Diego awoke from his coma and began various therapies that helped him relearn how to walk, talk, and eat. Today, he’s back to the gym and enjoying outdoor activities with his friends and family.

After nurse Sheri was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation at Adventist Health Simi Valley, she first tried to manage her condition with medication. Her symptoms persisted, so she chose an ablation procedure.  Now she’s thriving and grateful for the care she received: “From the state-of-the-art technology to the compassionate staff, I felt supported every step of the way,” Sheri said.

Samantha was fearful to learn that her twin pregnancy came with high-risk complications. Now, she reflects on the fantastic care she received inside the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Sutter’s Memorial Medical Center after the teams there helped successfully birth her twins.
