Aragón Appointed CDPH Director

On Dec. 7, Tomás Aragón, the current health officer for the City and County of San Francisco and Director of the Population Health Division for the San Francisco Department of Public Health, was appointed director of the California Department of Public Health.

Aragón has held the positions in San Francisco since 2011. In addition, he has been a volunteer faculty member for the University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health since 2004. Aragon’s position requires Senate confirmation.
